In preparation for sending humans on long trips into space, Brandeis University scholars have been working since the 1980s to create environments that simulate artificial gravity.
Students use an Etch A Sketch® device to trace a triangle shape, erase it, and repeat the trace a couple of times to test the effect that repetition has on the ease or difficulty of a task.
The human brain is highly adaptable. This activity demonstrates how the brain adapts to a new situation. Students investigate learning to toss beanbags at a target while wearing prism goggles.
Students collect and interpret data and then have an opportunity to design additional experiments.
